Privacy and terms

Privacy
Your records stay on your computer
Jersey Business Manager keeps your invoices, customers, employees and every other figure you enter on the device you use it on. The app does not send them anywhere and I never see them. That also means I cannot recover them for you: use Export backup regularly and keep the file somewhere safe.
What this website counts
The website counts visits so I can see whether anyone is reading it. It records page views and clicks on install buttons, plus a daily visitor code used to estimate distinct visitors. It sets no cookies, it does not store your IP address, and it ignores visitors who have switched on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. To tell one visitor from two, it makes a one-way code from your connection details. The code is derived from your IP address, browser information, the UTC date and a server secret. Treat it as a pseudonymous identifier, not guaranteed anonymous data. Identifiers from earlier days are deleted when the next eligible counting request is processed; if no further request arrives, they remain until cleanup occurs. Aggregated daily counts remain. An install click does not confirm a completed installation.
Like every website, my hosting provider keeps routine server logs for security and running the service.
When you email me or request a licence
The request form does not send anything itself: it opens your own email program with the message written, and you decide whether to send it. If you do email me, I receive your name, your email address and whatever you write. I use them to answer you, to deal with your order and to issue your licence code. I keep order records for as long as I need them to look after your licence and to keep proper accounts. I do not sell your details or share them for marketing.
Your rights
You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it where I am able to. If you are not happy with how I have handled it, you can complain to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (jerseyoic.org).
Terms
The free trial
Jersey Business Manager can be tried free for 90 days. No card and no account are needed.
The paid licence
- Prices are shown in the Pricing section of the website. You order by email, and I send a written order confirmation before you pay anything.
- The licence runs for 365 days from the day I email you the licence code. It does not renew automatically, so there is nothing to cancel.
- A licence is for one computer. It may not be copied or shared.
- The software is protected by copyright under the Intellectual Property (Unregistered Rights) (Jersey) Law 2011.
What the software is, and is not
- It helps you organise records and calculates figures from what you enter. It is not tax advice, and it does not submit anything to Revenue Jersey or Social Security on your behalf.
- Rates, thresholds and deadlines change. Check anything you are unsure of with Revenue Jersey, Social Security or a qualified accountant. The software is not Government-certified.
- Responsibility for what you file remains yours.
- Windows and Mac are the fully tested setups. A phone or tablet works for invoices and checking figures on the move.
